About Me
Welcome to my private practice counseling website. I'm delighted to share a bit about my journey and the passion that drives my work.
My academic journey began at Texas Tech University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. This foundational experience sparked my deep interest in understanding the human mind and behavior. Following my graduation, I embarked on a career as a science teacher. While I enjoyed teaching, it was the connections I made with my students that truly resonated with me. These meaningful interactions guided me to a pivotal realization: my calling was to support and counsel students, rather than solely impart academic knowledge.
To pursue this new direction, I enrolled at Texas Woman's University, where I obtained my Master's in Counseling and Development. Armed with this advanced training, I began my professional journey as a school counselor. Over the past 24 years, I have gained extensive experience in education, including 15 years dedicated specifically to school counseling. During this time, I have had the privilege of working with adolescents and their families across a diverse spectrum, ranging from middle school to high school, including those serving time in juvenile detention and those applying to and being accepted at Ivy League universities.
Each step of my career has reinforced a core belief: every individual possesses immense value and is in the midst of crafting their own unique story. This perspective is at the heart of my counseling practice. I am committed to providing a supportive and empowering environment where individuals can explore their narratives, overcome challenges, and realize their full potential.
Thank you for considering me as a partner in your journey. I look forward to the opportunity to work together and support you in writing the next chapters of your story.
